ProTaper KTM 85 SX (17/14) Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 47 Teeth - Black

The ProTaper KTM 85 SX (17/14) Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 47 Teeth - Black is a 47-tooth rear sprocket built from heat-treated 7075-T6 billet aluminum and CNC-machined in the USA for the KTM 85 SX (17/14) and a range of compatible small-bore machines from KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, and Triumph. It belongs to ProTaper's Race Spec series, which features angled mud grooves cut into both sides of every tooth to shed mud during riding, a design ProTaper says increases tooth surface area by up to 40% over competing sprockets for better chain contact and longer sprocket life. Built-in countersinks self-center the sprocket on the hub during installation, no separate hub center guide required, and a deep anodized finish in black helps resist corrosion and wear.

A larger rear sprocket like this 47-tooth option lowers overall gearing, which sharpens acceleration off corners and out of tight sections at the cost of some top-end speed.
