ProTaper Kawasaki KX65 Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 47 Teeth - Black
The ProTaper Kawasaki KX65 Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 47 Teeth - Black is a 47-tooth rear sprocket built for the Kawasaki KX65 and the Suzuki RM65, machined from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum and finished with a deep-penetrating anodized coating that resists corrosion and wear. ProTaper's Race Spec series uses an angled mud groove cut into both sides of every tooth, which sheds mud during riding to help reduce power loss and slow down sprocket wear. ProTaper says this groove layout increases tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets, improving chain contact and extending sprocket life. Built-in countersinks center the sprocket to the hub automatically during installation, and the whole thing is made in the USA.
A larger rear sprocket like this 47-tooth option lowers overall gearing, which gives you quicker acceleration off the line at the expense of some top-end speed.
