The ProTaper Honda CRF450R Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 52 Teeth - Red is a Race Spec (RS) rear sprocket cut from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum and CNC-machined in the USA, finished with a deep anodized red coating that resists corrosion and wear. ProTaper's angled mud grooves run on both sides of every tooth, creating a self-cleaning action that sheds mud during riding and increases tooth surface contact area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets, which ProTaper says translates to longer sprocket life. Built-in countersinks automatically center the sprocket to the hub on installation, so no separate hub center guide is needed. This sprocket fits a wide range of Honda off-road and motocross bikes, from the CRF450R to the CR250R and XR650R.
A 52-tooth rear sprocket is on the larger end of the range, which lowers overall gearing for snappier acceleration off the line and out of corners at the cost of some top-end speed.
